Sarah Hannaway

Hi there, I’m Sarah — the owner of The Hut. Welcome.

The Hut opened its doors in April 2019, and I feel incredibly blessed to spend my days doing what I love: guiding movement practices, offering massage, holding sound therapy sessions, and creating spaces where people can reconnect with themselves in a deeply holistic way.

Alongside my work here, I am an End-of-Life Soul Doula, supporting individuals and families through one of life’s most tender transitions. I hold space from emotional, social, spiritual, and embodied perspectives, honouring the whole person.

I am also a trainee counsellor, currently studying Integrative Counselling. This training has deepened the way I listen, attune, and respond, allowing the one-to-one work I do at The Hut to be rooted in compassion, presence, and gentle guidance.

My approach to movement goes far beyond flexibility or fitness. I believe we carry our stories, especially grief, stress and loss in the body. Tension, heaviness, and disconnect often show up long before we have words for what we’re holding. Movement becomes a powerful tool: a way of loosening what has settled, softening what has tightened, and allowing the body to express what the heart has struggled to release.
It’s a practice of grounding, restoring, and gently coming home to yourself.

I believe in the healing power of community: being free to love, laugh, share moments, and evolve together. The Hut is a place where people feel safe, supported, and surrounded by like-minded souls, a space where real transformation can happen.

Carmen Aziz

Carmen discovered her passion for yoga while she was a student.  She quickly realized that yoga nurtured not only her body but also her mind.  Motivated by this, she travelled to India to complete her yoga teacher training, immersing herself in the practice at its roots.  Carmen is deeply committed to honouring the tradition and foundations of yoga, and she strongly believes that yoga is for every body, without exception. 

She is especially passionate about how yoga helps us reconnect with ourselves and 

deepen our connection with others, creating space for awareness, compassion, 

and presence.  Her intention is to offer a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable, supported, and able to share in her love and knowledge of yoga.

Ria

Ria Nisar

Ria is our Thai Yoga massage practitioner.  Thai yoga massage complements her existing yoga practice, it has helped Ria manage her own menopausal symptoms.  It is great for stretching and mobilising your body as well as restoring the movement of energy around your body removing stagnation and promoting homeostasis.  Its unique in the fact that both giver and receiver benefit from the massage, it also enhances your physical awareness of your body, allowing you to grow your existing yoga practice.

Ria is so passionate about sharing this treatment with you all here at the hut.  It is a wonderful experience, your body will thank you.

Gillian Allsop

Love calm, clarity and relaxation? Then you will love your session with Gillian.

Gillian is a meditation, reiki & sound healing practitioner. Sessions with Gillian are a wonderful way to give yourself the gift of time. You can set an intention or you can relax and see what flows for you. Either way you will feel relaxed and rejuvenated by the pause you have allowed yourself with this wonderful combination of reiki & sound.

Rita fell inlove with yoga later in life, so much so it inspired her to become qualified to teach. She is fascinated by the mind body connection in yoga and extrememly passionate that yoga is accessible to everyone and that our future mobility depends on how we move our bodies today! She is delighted to step into her role as a teacher so she can pass on what she has learned and share the positive effects of yoga.  It is her hope that students feels comfortable no matter what their level of practice and come out of class feeling both relaxed and energised.
